Description : A totem pole can be something like a family history book in that they show that people are related to each other, show pride in one’s heritage or wealth, share a joke, or remember a certain person who has died. Totem poles are proudly displayed by families and tribes for all to see. Besides stories that may be told by anybody, some totem poles also illustrate stories that are considered as the private property of a certain family and therefore should only be told by them
