Description : November 17, 1993 marked the official opening of the first permanent home of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly. In a natural setting on the shore of Frame Lake, the Legislative Assembly building is a short walk from the center of Yellowknife. The building belongs to all the people of the Northwest Territories. It is here that Members, elected by the people of the North, carry out the people,s business.
Throughout the building, natural light filters through the skylights surrounding the perimeters of the Chamber and Caucus Room. Glass partitions used to separate these areas offer an excellent opportunity to present northern artistic themes, rendered directly on the glass.
