Thorsen Creek Petroglyphs, Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada 18

Description : The Thorsen Creek Petroglyphs are located 8 kilometres west of Bella Coola. Norwegian explorer and writer Thor Heyerdahl suggested that the Easter Islanders originated here because the incised rock symbols on the canyon face so greatly resemble the Polynesian stone carvings on Easter Island.
The site contains over 100 Native rock paintings, and access to this site is through the First Nations Reservation, so a guide is required.
